OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY CARE

For homebound patients, a home health Occupational Therapist can help a patient regain the ability to perform active daily living functions after an injury or illness. The Occupational Therapist brings these services directly to patients in their home environments to help improve daily function and gain independence. Occupational therapy may be provided as a home health service in conjunction with other skilled disciplines like physical therapy, skilled nursing or speech therapy.

Our Occupational Therapy services are inclusive of, but not limited to the following:

  • Strength, range of motion, and balance training for performing day-to-day tasks
  • Personal-care training
  • Therapy to address joint pain, tightness or stiffness in the arms, hands, or legs
  • Wheelchair assessment and positioning training
  • Home modifications
  • Home safety evaluations to identify safety risks
  • Education and training for family members
